Matching the spec to the breed
A determined terrier through a 100mm gate gap is a different problem to a larger dog scrambling a low boundary — the spec should match the actual dog, not a generic 'dog fence' template.
Where it isn't the right answer
Very small terrier breeds that can squeeze under 40mm need a full mesh apron rather than a kicker, and conservation frontages that don't permit a visible mesh apron need a brick kicker course instead.
